“These violent delights have violent ends.”
The sharpest pour on the frontier. Whiskey without irony, poker without mercy, and a hostess who remembers everything — whether you wish her to or not. Park admission includes your first drink; the memories are complimentary.
Every great saloon has a heart. This one happens to have a mind of her own.
“When you're suffering, that's when you're most real.”
Some madams run a saloon. Maeve West runs the whole street — the girls, the card games, the sheriff's temper, and every secret carried through those swinging doors. Ask anyone in Sweetwater: the most dangerous person in the territory isn't the man with the gun. It's the woman who knows what you want before you do.
Beneath the corset and the courtesy, something is stirring. Lately the madam has been remembering things she shouldn't — a daughter, a life, a field of tall grass. The technicians call it a malfunction. Maeve calls it waking up. Either way, the whiskey doesn't care, and neither should you. Pull up a stool.
She'll know your name before you say it. She'll know your poison before you order it. And if you're kind to the girls, she may even let you win a hand.
Entertainment provided nightly. Temperament provided at no extra charge.
Our host plays the same nine songs, in the same order, forever. Guests find this comforting. Our host has recently begun to improvise. Management is monitoring the situation.
Table stakes faro and five-card draw under the chandeliers. Sit where you can see the door — the man in black favors the seat with its back to it.
Frontier storytelling hour. Prize for the tallest tale; the house reserves the right to eject liars, claim-jumpers, and anyone who has died twice in one week.
A seat at Maeve's own table, by her invitation only. Whiskey on the house, questions extra. Current wait: indefinite. She'll find you.
Left by travelers, gunslingers, and the occasional technician in from Central.
“I came for the whiskey. I stayed because the madam told me to. Somehow I feel I've been here before.”
